The peel-and-stick wallpaper hasn't fallen off my wall yet which has a knockdown texture and painted with satin enamel paint. The wallpaper can't hide the wall texture, but it is not obvious under interior lighting. I have to lift it for repositioning and no paint has been lifted off nor I see any residues left behind, but I think whether this will happen depends on the type of paint used on the wall.Tips for application:(1) wipe the wall down with a damp cloth to remove dust, wait for it to dry before putting on the wallpaper. I also used my hand to feel for any excessively protruding points and removed them with a blade.(2) at places where the wallpaper is white, the overlap sections look extremely obvious, either because of my relatively darker wall in grey or the wallpaper is thin. I decided to cut away the overlap with a cutter on the wall the enhance the appearance carefully to make sure there aren't any tiny gaps between sections. Although having some errors which cannot be noticed from afar and the process was quite painful, the result is much more acceptable.(2) Applying the wallpaper from top to bottom. If there is excess wallpaper in height, you may consider leaving some on the top since the walls may not be as "squared" as you make think, and a gap may exist between the top of the wallpaper and the ceiling.(3) I also recommend not to firmly press on the wallpaper before its position is confirmed. The reference points on my wallpaper lie further down, so I have to adjust the positions of nearly all panels. To do this, first exposed a small sticky section from the top (as instructed by the supplier), slightly press on it just enough that it won't fall off from the wall, then expose more stick sections, match and anchor the panels at the reference points, then lift off the top section, smooth the panel from bottom to top, make sure there is no crease nor bubble, and finally, press the wallpaper firmly to the wall (I used a plastic putty knife to help).
